I'm compiling information about my parents during the Second World War.

My mother was taken by the Nazis for Slave Labour from Novocherkassk, Russia after Germany treacherously attacked Russia in Operation Barbarossa.  She was taken in cattle wagons to Austria, rather than Germany, since a lot of the railway lines were bombed.  Mama said that one day they would be travelling one way, then she would awake and they would be travelling back the other way.

She finally was taken to a Slave Labour Camp by Klagenfurt Austria.  There she, along with the other Russian girls, including her friend Maria, also from Novocherkassk, would be put to making bricks and also making ammunition.  She told me it was underground somewhere.  Bombers would fly over and the Germans would lock them in the factories.  The age of my mother and Maria, at this time, was 18 - teenagers!!!
